Visit the Income Tax Portal
Open the official Income Tax e-Filing portal and click Login.
The "Forgot Password" link is on this same login page, right below the password field.
Click "Forgot Password"
Below the login form, look for the Forgot Password link and click it.
Enter Your PAN / User ID
Type in your PAN number or User ID and continue.
Verify Your Identity
Choose whichever verification method is available on your account:
Create a New Password
Once verified, set a strong new password and save it somewhere secure.
