What is TDS?

TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is tax deducted before payment is made to you. Companies, employers and platforms deduct tax and deposit it with the Income Tax Department on your behalf.

The deducted amount gets reflected in your PAN records and can be viewed through Form 26AS and AIS.
